Whites Wood Lane Judo Club - Gainsborough Judo
Whites wood lane judo club has been producing Gainsborough Judo players for over 25 years, it’s original founder was Tony Henderson 2nd Dan Black Belt. When Tony retired in 1987 the club was handed over to Steve McConville who up until that point had been a full time student. His assistant instructor at the time was Eric Platt who has since sadly passed away, but managed to achieve his 1st Dan Black Belt before retiring. Steve is now currently a 4th Dan Black Belt and has two other instructors helping him, Nicola, his daughter, a 3rd Dan Black Belt who has been coaching at the club since 1993 and Matt a 2nd Dan Black Belt who was a former student and has been coaching back at the club since 2008.
Whites Wood Lane Judo Club has managed to get former students to reach their junior and senior Black Belts, be selected for the Great Britain Squad, and Represent the society in International Competitions.
We have approximately 30 current students, Junior & Senior covering various grades from novice red belts up to 1st Dan Black Belt.
Training is held on Monday nights 6.15pm – 8pm at West Lindsey Leisure Centre, Gainsborough, DN21 1EP, Session Fee £2.00. Membership & Insurance, juniors £12.00 per year and seniors £14.00 per year
